The country of Sweden
Sweden is in northern Europe and is the largest Nordic country. It is long, with the Baltic Sea to the east and the Skagerrak and Kattegat to the west. A warm ocean current softens the climate. The ice age left lakes, archipelagos and mountains. More than half the land is forest. The country is divided into Götaland, Svealand and Norrland, and also into historic provinces, counties and municipalities. Most people live in the south and near the coast. Ore, forest, farmland and water are important resources. One climate goal is near-zero emissions by 2045.
