Sweden’s democratic system
Democracy means the people rule. Citizens should choose between several parties in free and secret elections, and those in power should be replaceable. Everyone may try to persuade others, by voting, joining an association or writing in a paper. The law should apply to everyone, and nobody should be judged without a fair hearing. Democracy is weaker when few people vote, when threats silence debate, or when people live so separately that they lose contact with society.

Democracy means rule by the people. Elections are secret. The law applies to everyone. Low turnout and deep segregation make it harder to influence decisions.
